Reaction:
Is blended learning only about big numbers? Can it be successful with just 1 teacher and 30 students?

was assumed that students would work an additional three hours independently

Reaction:
I thought blended learning was about reducing in class meting time, but in this case study b-learning and face-to-face are 50-50. Can we design a successful with 85% of b-learning and 15% of f2f?

AECs de Música de nível Insatisfatório

AECs de Música de nível Insatisfatório passam de 23 para 39%. Pior seria difícil! Estes resultados constam dos relatórios da APEM relativos aos anos lectivos 0607 e 0708. Tão brutal agravamento mostra a insuficiência das recomendações feitas pela nossa Associação e a ineficácia das medidas tomadas pelo Ministério. O próprio relatório de 0708 aponta a causa: falta de preparação dos professores — só 22% são profissionalizados. E para este problema existe uma solução, mas parece que ninguém a quer assumir. Só conseguiremos alterar radicalmente a percentagem vergonhosa de aulas com nível Insatisfatório quando se acabar de vez e completamente com a contratação de docentes por análise curricular. Temos que contratar apenas candidatos portadores de habilitação profissional para a docência de Educação Musical (250) ou de Música (610). Tudo o resto são ideias eventualmente simpáticas, gotas de água no oceano, sem impacto tangível a nível nacional. Relatório 0708 Relatório 0607

BlendKit2017 Reading Reaction: Chapter 03

How will I determine students are learning? My first answer was “easy, same ol same ol”: in my f2f courses I use (1) group projects to be developed outside the classroom, (2) individual critical reviews to be written also outside the classroom, and (3) written tests performed in class. So when replacing the f2f to b-learning I thought it would be enough to move the above assignments 1 and 2 to the online realm, and keep the third in the f2f portion of the course. Well, this might work in a class of 10, possibly in a class of 30, but now I realize that it is undoable in a class of 100 — here I am struggling with the numbers... again :) So I really need to change my assessment strategy if I want to have more than 30 students enrolled.
